My guess is that video was made a week or two ago. He was in Tokyo for the Tokyo Auto Salon show. I doubt he made a separate trip just for the factory tour.

** Yup **

Interesting video; thank you for posting it. Have a few comments. First, no car is built perfectly, including the LC, so the guy shouldn't say that, for his own credibility. Also noticed around minute 7, that the 'trolley' had several torque wrenches, so the tech could grab the wrong one (he was grabbing them pretty quickly), and torque would be wrong... something that doesn't happen with robots (or 'robotized' tools, like the ones to install wheel lug nuts/bolts, etc). Oh, and I was very surprised to see a factory install freaking front plate brackets, which a white LC shown exactly on minute 5:06 clearly had (and at the end, it was shown again twice more), so learned something new today. Ha ha. And as a final comment, wonder who builds cars better: Porsche or Lexus with the LC. I've seen videos of both factories, and both are impressive. But wonder which one is less prone to errors.

Default David Chao from the factory tour post #25

David has done the unthinkable - he just sold/traded-in his beloved 2023 Lexus GX 460 in Nori Green. But fear not, David has purchased another Lexus with even more potent V-8 under the hood: 2024 Lexus LC 500 Inspiration Series. The LC 500 has always been David's dream car, but it was literally like chasing a cloud as it appeared impossible to actually buy one, especially brand new. But timing worked out when Jim Pattison Lexus (the best Lexus Dealer in Metro Vancouver) was able to get an allocation of this extremely rare Inspiration Series LC 500. In fact, there are only 125 of these in North America, and only 10 in Canada... and out of those 10 units, only 3 are the coupe version which means that David has 1 of only 3 units like this in Canada. Even more impressive is the fact that this specific LC 500 Inspiration Series has the number 006 out of 125. Watch the "unboxing" of this amazing vehicle as David takes ownership this week. And don't worry, David still has a deposit on the new 2024 Lexus GX 550 which should arrive in late spring.

Another one. This one goes into issues for the 2017 model with ~80k miles on it.

Yoshihide Muroya, a Japanese aerobatics and race pilot, races a Zivko Edge 540 V3 aircraft against two Lexus cars during Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni’s 45th Friendship Day at MCAS Iwakuni, Japan, May 5, 2024. Since 1973, MCAS Iwakuni has held a Friendship Day open house to foster positive relationships between the air station and its Japanese hosts, offering a culturally enriching experience that displays the mutual support between the U.S. and Japan. More than 113,000 guests were in attendance during this year’s air show.
