Thanks Ksolodar and tecman, unfortunately, I pushed and pushed all over the top of the gauge cluster and it is tight as a drum. So I do not think that is the issue. When the rattle has started in the past I have pushed down on the speaker, but that did not stop it either……

Welcome to curved windshields. I have a similar noise in my '22 GX. It comes and goes and sounds like a light ticking right where the dash meets the windshield behind the steering wheel. To try to find it I had someone else drive while I listened from the passenger seat. Guess what? The noise again sounded like it was coming from right in front of me. So the windshield is either reflecting or transmitting the sound from somewhere other than where I think it is. Maybe I'll try the stethoscope method. Works for doctors.

Ksolodar that is exactly what I am dealing with! Perfect description….the crazy thing is how it can disappear for a couple days and then return. I drove back from Vegas for 5 hours and heard absolutely nothing. 2 days later make a quick run to the market and it starts again. Crazy ****….

I suspect I know what is causing it on my GX. 10 years ago there were multiple TSBs on the windshield retainer clips loosening and causing a ticking noise. It's technically not the clips, but their frame mount. They just kind of friction fit into a fold so the fix was to wedge open the fold slightly. As far as I know the clips have not been redesigned (the GX is a dinosaur) though the TSB no longer applies to later model years. I haven't bothered to argue with the dealer over the fix yet as I usually drive the LC. Toyota's philosophy seems to be fixing the 1 out of 1000 vehicles that have the issue is cheaper than redesigning the part. Could very well be the same for the LC as many Lexus and Toyota vehicles share parts. Metal and glass expand at different rates and temperatures, thus why mine appears in the summer and disappears about a half hour after the AC has cooled the car enough to contract the roof metal. It's just a thought.
