Except that it is not possible to have DRS (rear steering) with Bespoke in 2024. Confirmed by my dealership.

You also can't match some of the unique interiors, for example the 2020 IE has (in my opinion) the best interior ever put in an LC (two-tone black and brown):

But the exterior finishes -- unique wheels, dark trim, color combinations -- can be replicated by a bespoke build to the point that from 20 feet away most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between an IE and a bespoke of the same color.

For me, the only mechanical upgrade that would be worth chasing from a collector perspective is the transmission cooler.

Can somebody please tell me what the obsession is with having a transmission cooler on our LCs? I have seen a few of y'all mention you would want it on a new LC.

The LC isn't a race car so I honestly don't get why it is important for our vehicles.

Transmission will overheat after a fairly short period of spirited driving. Backroad driving can do it. That's not great.

The problem isn't that the LC doesn't have a dedicated transmission cooler. A lot of cars don't have them. Most cars don't need them.

The problem is that the LC can be easily be pushed to the point where the transmission overheats without it. The car is capable enough to need it, but doesn't have it.

Three laps around COTA in Sport S+ and the transmission overheats. ~10 minutes of canyon driving and the transmission overheats:

How did Lexus solve this? They created a transmission cooler for the car.

The car needs it. The manufacturer created the part. I'd like to have it please, thanks.

To add, Savagegeese’s recent 2024 Convertible review mentions they overheated it just driving around (admittedly like monkeys) on their flat Illinois roads.

If you do a Lexus driving school they have you drive it in S and say not to use manual mode, which tells me S+ and manual shifts will overheat it quicker.

"admittedly like monkeys" is the key point. if someone wants to redline the car in every gear for extended periods of time... don't be surprised if you're stressing the car. reviewers don't care if they break cars remember. the lc500 is NOT a sports car. if that's what someone wants, they should get a porsche or something else.

It’s not a sports car but it is a 6 figure GT car. I expect to be able to drive aggressively on public roads without overheating anything within a few minutes. I can’t think of another competitor GT car that would have this issue. Heck, I don’t think a much cheaper, still non-sports car like a GTI would have this issue.

And even though this isn’t an F car, the F cars aren’t honest to god sports cars either and don’t have this issue.

Neither are the RC-F, the GS-F or the IS-F. But they all get transmission coolers.

Lexus acknowledged that transmission overheating on the LC is a problem by creating a part to solve the problem. I'd like that part please, thanks.

i just read that whole thread (again) and there's lots of differences of opinion in there.

but sure, i'd like a trans cooler option (oem or third party) - if it were available without being too outrageously priced, i'd get it just as 'insurance' even though i have NO interest in taking my lc on a track or driving like a looney on public roads.
