Good Paint Shop in Dallas
Can anyone recommend a good place in Dallas (TX) to have paint correction and ceramic coating installed. I've discovered that the MY22 LC Infrared Sport had been completely repainted at some point. Other than minor grill damage I can't find any evidence of a major accident. Maybe it got keyed or something. Not unheard of in Dallas. Great color match and reflection, but more orange peel than factory spec. Tons of clear overspray on every window and even rubber weather stripping. Also, a lot of loose trim and bolts from panels being removed to paint off the car (a way to hide the repaint from standard inspection). I bought it CPO so when I brought this up to the dealer they claimed it had not been repainted per their durometer tests, though my own tests show 8 - 13 mil range on doors and 18 - 20 mil on hood. Definitely not original, especially since the base and intermediate coats are hand sanded smooth at the factory. I've tightened all the trim down and reinstalled pieces that used double sided tape so the car is solid.
I just want to have an expert smooth out the orange peel and ceramic coat the car. The Infrared color takes real talent to correct.
Thanks, Y'all!

My opinion, how long have you had the car? If you’re seeing as much clear over spray on windows and other parts of the car along with a lot of loose panel screws I’ll be taking that car back and getting my money back. Pictures?

I'll see if I can get some pictures. The reflective paint makes it hard for my camera to pick up. The problem with taking it back is two-fold. I basically need a lawyer against Sewell Lexus. They still remember my successful saga of making them repurchase a new 2008 ES350 under the lemon law (very time consuming on my part) and will fight tooth and nail. Second, finding an equivalent LC500 to replace it is like finding a needle in a haystack, plus could face similar issues. I don't want a 2024 due to the revised dashboard, and I don't want a convertible as our summers are much more brutal than down in Round Rock. I was lucky to find the car I wanted with Infrared exterior and Caramel interior. I really wanted the dynamic handling package but those are even rarer.
I've had the car 4 months now.

Are you sure that you see a lot of overspray of the clear coat? Especially when you said you removed it with clay bar it makes me think that it was most likely a previous ceramic coatin which was installed lousy way.

I asked a Dallas friend, very automotive minded.

Lots of little shiny dots seems more like overspray. Usually airborne around a painting booth. Btw, clay bars were originally invented in Japan to remove overspray.
