Default Question about sound damping of the door

Hello,

My friend claims that Lexus coupe has one of the most over-engineered sound damping out of the factory.

I would be eager to know what damping material lexus put inside, MLV? LASD?

Wondering if anyone has any photo of the door without the sealing compartment between window and trim panel, like photo below?

I didn't take photos when I took off the interior door panel, but I can confirm there is not a big opening covered by a plastic moisture barrier like most cars. Instead it is one solid carbon fiber reinforced plastic shell with just a couple small openings for the speaker and such. The sound insulation is on the interior door panel and is the same carpet padding-like sound insulation used under the carpets and such. I found this on the internet. I'm not willing to remove the outer aluminum skin but I wouldn't doubt there is some mass loaded adhesive material on it.

Thanks. I have actually seen some videos of people removing trim panel. What I want is to see through these holes, for what lexus put on the interior panel.

whatever lexus did, it isn't that effective. but most of the noise though is tire noise especially with run flats.

that's because it's not dual pane / laminated like most luxury cars these days. even my hyundai ioniq 5 has dual pane windows.

Thats because your suv has a full frame around the glass. Why do we, I, care about the door insulation? What about the fender, hood, dash, trunk. There is an open tube to bring more engine noise into the cabin from the engine bay??

Well aware of this as my MB S550 had it (frameless glass here), yet my M850 does not, but it is still noticeably thicker than the LC's and much more quiet from road noise.

Not exactly the case...see my post re my MBS550 coupe above.
I believe in the LC's case, the glass was thin at an attempt to save some weight where they could, although it was a bad place to do it. Personally I don't care that much about weight in a large lux GT, hell I'd welcome another 30lbs for massaging seats ...the ones in the S class are wonderful!

Default Translation: Lexus LC 500, see the next stage of work. More videos from this project

Videos are from a company in Warsaw Poland that specialize in sound proofing and audio https://top-auto.com.pl/.
Too bad the closed captioning doesn't work.

Video update
