Well first of all Thanks to the forum and its members for trying to help me solve my rattle issue. I thought for sure it was the plastic hud cover, but unfortunately that was not the cause. However, by accident I duplicated the exact noise when I close the door slowly or move the door back and forth. It sounds crazy, but the tick noise seems to be coming from inside the front right windshield A pillar when moving the door back and forth. When in the driving position it sounds like it is the dashboard, but when I put my ear against the A pillar and move the door back and forth you hear the ticking. This rattle issue is so hard to figure out and sorry to be a nuisance on this forum , but 99 percent of you know way more about this car the I do! Any thoughts would be truly appreciated. I have a video with the noise on my iPhone if someone could explain how to upload it here…or can I send it to someone and maybe they could post it for me?

Noises like that drive me crazy. Especially when it seems to come from odd locations or sources, but then seems to eminate from elsewhere. Good luck.

Could be the door window pressing against the weather stripping pushing on the A pillar causing it to flex or rub. On mine the window is slightly loose and vibrates over larger bumps. The weather stripping is friction fit into a metal track above the door and over time the screws holding in in place can work loose allowing vibration. Pull out the weather strip and check the screws (don't worry, the weather strip won't tear). You can also peak inside the A pillar at this time. To reinstall the weather strip tuck the top in first before pushing in the bottom "channel". If that's not the source then it's likely something inside the A pillar is loose or the trim below is rubbing. Every trim piece overlaps the next from bottom up. I.e. you have to remove the door sill, then the trim above it, then the trim above that, etc. This I'd let the dealer take care of due to the curtain airbag assembly in the A pillar. I don't mess with airbags.
