Default Carbon fiber sill plates for 2024?

Does anyone know if the carbon fiber sill plates are still an option for 2024?

I looked on the Lexus build your own web page and I didn't see them.

Thanks

It’s in the DHP.
Or if you’re doing the bespoke build, it’s a separate option. My ‘24 bespoke has it.

I just did a quick check, and the option is still there for regular builds

I couldn't find it on the convertible (non-inspiration/bespoke) build page. I can on the coupe.

^^^^Yep, you are correct I'd be surprised if the door sills were different coupe to convertible You may want to question your dealer.

Ordered them this year for my ‘24 coupe. Recently took delivery and they look great. Just be sure to PPF them, as they can and do scuff up quite a bit.

Are they flat or do they have any complex bumps/ridges/curves? I'm wondering how hard it would be to PPF it myself. My PPF guy wanted $100 each to do them, that seems steep and doable by ordering some film off amazon if it's a relatively simple/flat surface.

It’s flat. But let them do it.
There’s a glossy part and a matte part. They can do matte PPF on the matte and gloss on the other.
I don’t think it’s worth the trouble doing it yourself. By the time you get both matte and gloss PPF, and all the tools and solution involved, it’ll run you close to the $200. And remember if you messed up….
Its actually quite big. It’s not like a door sill. It’s the whole entire side.

Yeah thanks for this full pic. It's definitely larger than what I consider a typical door sill. For example the illuminated sill on my GS is maybe the size of that glossy piece that has LEXUS printed on it, and it's placed further up where you'd normally step and that's all there is.

Seeing it I will let them do it. Thanks!

The illuminated door sill on the LC is the size of the gloss part.
it just that when they did the carbon fiber, they decided to do the whole side/step.
Honestly, I’m not really sure how I feel on the CF scuff plate. The whole ****ing car is pretty dark. There’s no courtesy lights or puddle lights. And without the illuminated door sill, it’s just ****ing dark.

...
They are not flat. There is a raised segment on the rear, inner side. Indeed, my installer had a bit of difficulty getting the PPF to fully stick on a few curved seam areas. I had him re-do it, but I still see a bubble or two on there curved transitions. I'll eventually use a heat gun on it and see if I can bet a 100% stick. Not too obvious, but still bugs me, being OCD! Still, I've see one without the film and shoes really tore it up on top, so the coverage is well worth the effort or cost. Suppose if the film isn't too expensive, you might give it a try yourself first and see how you do. Can't hurt!

For example, on other Lexus. The door handles will light up when you walk up to it. Okay, not realistic with LC handles. And the side mirrors has lights pointing down. No such thing on my ‘24 LC. Not sure if it’s the 360 cameras taking up that space or previous years model don’t have that either. So when you open the door, the illuminated door sill would be more welcoming than a dark piece of CF that does not function as anything.

I agree, I got fooled by the listed "illuminated entry system" advertised as a standard feature, thinking it would be like the other models in the lineup. In reality, it's not anything other than key proximity based interior lighting, and it's weak at that from what I could tell. I will miss the way my GS puddle lights under the mirrors came on just on approach, but I think I will just learn to live with it.

Does the door itself have a puddle light anywhere along the bottom interior when you open it? If so perhaps a brighter bulb there can help mitigate.

It does have the light on the door when you open it.
I just don’t like how the car doesn’t do anything when I walk up to it.
