excellent car so far...I just recently experimented w ith "M". Was always scared to in other cars because of leaving tranny on the hwy..OMG is it a blast...just like driving a stick...upshift/downshift whenever and the exhaust is perfect. :}

I do wish we could change gears from the shift lever. It can be awkward when turning the steering wheel and I'm not really a both hands on the wheel driver.

It's not enough for me to disregard the car, but it was definitely something I noticed and stuck in my mind.

Agree, also played with it recently. Was only "sketchy" about returning to D mode (having to move the shift left to N then D when moving). Unless someone knows another way to return from M to D without going to N first?

Yes jsut pull the shifter down as you did to get it into M in the first place. That returns it to D

Ok, I tried numerous ways after selection of M to get back to D. Once in M, tried pulling it back again several times, holding it back, going fast/slow etc. does nothing and stays in M. Once M is selected, the only way it returns to D is by moving to N then D. Am I missing something?

I could have sworn that's how I did it in the 24 I test drove, but maybe I did move left then down. Whatever way I did it, the car definitely did not actually shift to N before moving back into gear when it hit D. It just stayed in gear or shifted to the appropriate gear when I did it while acceleration. If you do it fast enough left then down all in one swift fluid motion I think the car won't have time to actually shift to N anyway.
It's just seems strange, my other Lexus's for M is while in D, move left than up/down for shifting. Move it back right to return to D.

For me, left than D was no hesitation from M if done smoothly. The transfer was seamless (although once I just moved it to N and it did go into neutral with buzzers since I was moving).
