Hi All, so just traded my ‘22 coupe for a ‘24 vert. Wanted another coupe, but couldn’t find one I liked. Anyway, I hate the dash in front of the passenger. I’m considering some 3D printing, small display screen, or rigged other parts. Also, I may put a new analog clock in (see below my sophisticated drawing).
My question is, I can’t seem to find clarity on the airbag placement or ejection point. Last thing I want to do is decapitate my passenger with an object. Does the airbag come out of the top of the dash, or literally a breakaway point directly facing the passenger?
I already got it. And it will be a project. I wanted USB, with white interior and the new rims. And the better lane tracing etc. I had nightfall mica which I liked but USB in person made me weak.
Find the best picture you can of the previous year's passenger side dash. Blow it up to the exact dimensions needed. Print it out on high quality color photo paper and glue it to your dash. Problem solved!

I see. USB is the reason many of us went with ‘24.
Give it some more time. The response time with the new touch screen system along with LTA, Radar Cruise Control, Traffic Assist, and the 360 degree camera will quickly make you forget about the analog clock.
I, too, thought I would miss the analog clock but there’s so many places to tell the time. Even if I have to use the sun to tell the time or the moon and stars to navigate my way, I still would choose USB color.

Considering there was a big piece of hard plastic there before I think you're OK. It's like the CD player, it's just blanked.

I kinda thought that too, but then I was thinking that the piece may just fold down or something for the airbag. Jeep wranglers have hard plastic in the same place …

This sounds like a great project that can turn into a future law suit! Maybe just hold out and buy a 2025 with more updates.

Thanks to eBay…I can confirm that the pre-2024 dash is a single plastic part that does not contain the airbag! Now the fun begins.
