Default Haven't had a stupid question in a while

So here it is. Can't see doodle in my trunk so I think about replacing the bulb with a higher output led. Take a pic of the trunk light and don't see a release tab, so I gently pry around the edges and it doesn't budge. Before I break something, is there a secret to getting access to the bulb? TIA Sorry, forgot the pic.

Could be a push tab on the sides, try using a flat head with a microfiber wrapped around and and push in on the shorter side of the lens, while lifting up gently.

I pried it out with a screw driver and replace with LED I ordered from aliexpress. It had a power switch on it but I left a camera on and shut the trunk and the light powered off still with the switch left on.

I received the plug and play LED mentioned above today. For $11.43 it is absolutely worth it. Showing pictures of light output doesn't really work well, but here they are with no filters or modifications. I had the trunk stripped anyway so that should help.

I clicked on the link above, and it is on sale for only $4.14 for the next week, and no shipping charges either. Great time to do it for anyone interested.

@tecman how did you remove foam board from trunk. I was trying to get it out but was afraid to break it.

If you pull up the front part of the tray shown in the pic it will come out with some bending of the foam. Removing the one bolt allows it to be removed easily. The foam lip that tucks in is much larger on the other side, so work it out from the side shown.

Thank you @hainess for sharing the link. I received mine today for the sale price and installed it. What a difference in light output. FYI for those who decide to install, I had a bear of a time getting it to install flush - the left side was hard to push in, though I was able to finally do it after giving it a hard knock. I've installed aftermarket LEDs in my other cars and this was the first time it was so difficult. Got it done though!
