I'm 85, and when I experienced the problem described above, I flat-bedded the car at home. Drove it to the middle of the garage and jacked up the rear (with the flat) with a floor jack. I then put the rear of the LC on Jack Stands. I removed the rear wheels. When my new wheels arrived, I put all four in my truck and drove to Discount Tire. They balanced and mounted the new wheels and tires and returned the rears to the truck. I drove home, mounted the new rears, repositioned the floor jack, and removed the jack stands. I then drove the LC back to Discount Tire, where they removed my old front wheels and tires and replaced them with the new ones. I kept one of my old front tires as a spare and carried that wheel and tire home in the LC's trunk.

If I ever need a tow, I always say it has to be a flatbed and the car is lowered (regardless if it is or not). Once you trigger the lowered flag, the driver will (should) know they'll need boards. Always a good idea to keep a few boards in the garage or shed for things like this in case a tow comes up without them.
The LC stock clearance is way more than other cars I've had - which only needed a 2x4 (couple feet long, each wheel) to get on the ramp without scraping.

As others said- if it's just a single wheel then take care of it yourself and save the time/hassle of the dealer and towing.

Thanks for this story. At least you weren't in distress needing an immediate town and now I know what to do if I'm 50 miles away from town and break down and need a tow - I'll make all of the arrangements for the correct tow truck before they drive an hour or more to get to me and tell me they can't help.

Default Bolt pins

Can anyone tell me the correct dimensions for the bolt guide pins I’d need to purchase in case I need them for the LC if stuck in this situation? Cheers

I am not understanding this Difficulty to tow at all.
They will make At Least 25 times more C8 Vettes than LCs this year.
ALL those Vettes come with run flats. I'm sure the C8 is much lower in the front than an LC.
I haven't heard 1 twit about Any difficulties towing the new Vettes. And, I'm Very Sure if there Were, the Vette owners would be squawking mightily.

Many if not most Vettes have the ability to electronically raise the front end.

My steep driveway will take a Z51 C7, but not a C7 Z06.
And it will take the LC. My dealer would have taken my LC back if it didn't clear my driveway.

My NX450h+ seemed to have died, but after jump starting, it seemed like it would run, but had a warning that something was wrong with the electronic… throttle, transmission… and to call the dealership. I was asked if the car could be put in neutral, and I didn’t know. So they sent a platform truck, thus transporting on the bed of a truck. Maybe you could try that rather than have the wrong equipment for towing be sent out.

The problem is not that they didn’t send a flat bed but rather they didn’t know how to get the LC500 on the flatbed. Almost all of the towing fleet around here is flat bed due to the AWD vehicles on the road. It’s also much safer to use a flatbed.

So Barncobob, if I've got a 2018 model with lug nuts these aren't going to save my back then?

Nope you can't use them, my bad I thought you were referring to a 2024

Tbh they serve the same purpose as the stud you already have on your hub, so you aren't missing out
