Pop-up hood deployed, how do I close it?
I hit a deer at low speed and my pop up hood deployed. Car is completely fine other than a bit of cosmetic damage. I had to drive it home peeking over the hood, which was interesting. Anyway, does anyone know how to close it? I'll have to take it into a body shop and I'd rather not drive it popped up.

I can't in good conscious tell you how to drive without them.

Looks to me you can simply unbolt those pyro things. Reason I'm expressing concern if if something bad happens and you've disabled a safety device your insurance can void coverage. Very unlikely scenario but the consequences can be very bad.

Don't quote me on it but I think I read on the LS at least that the explosive detonation damages the hinges or bolts, so I'm not even sure you could close it even if you took the spent charge out. If removing the hood anyway though then I guess it's worth a shot if it's easy enough to get to.

Your hinges need to be replaced.
The pyro parts need to be replaced.
Also, there’s an airbag sensor that is one-use in front that needs to be replaced.
Most likely, your thin aluminum hood bent down the middle very subtly when the shocks shot up and the aluminum can’t be worked on so you’ll have to replace the hood too. Once you replace the hood, you’ll have to blend to the fenders and front bumper cover. It usually ends up being about a $20k repair for that hood to pop up when repaired properly and reset.

I'd say save the 20k repair and get yourself a carbon hood.
