Default Airbag warning light on!

Uh oh! Not even 400 miles on the odo and now this! Any easy ideas? My dealer is 200 miles away and I'm thinking of taking it to our local Toyota dealer at least for for diagnosis. $120 to diagnose..
Otherwise they have to transfer it back and forth to my dealer.

Do you have access to an OBD reader? If not go to an Auto store and ask if they can read your code. That should tell you what the fault is. It can also turn off the CEL. $120. bux is what Miss Daisy used to say Should be free.

I'd have your dealer send a roll back and have it transported both ways to your dealer. They should even drop off a loaner.

^^^^Huh Why should anyone spend a lot of money, when a simple check of the OBD code may solve the mystery

Thanks for the tip. I'll call and see if they can do it. What is the 'CEL'?

They will do that. I just worry about damage. I'd rather pay $120 to have it fixed locally if I could. Actually I have a call in to Lexus and they might be able to do it at our Toyota dealership.

Where in Arizona are you? Since your dealer is 120 miles away, I'm assuming you're not in the Tucson or Phoenix areas?

Lake Havasu. One major reason I almost never buy a vehicle I can't fix here.

Understood and agree. But I don't blame you for breaking that rule. The LC500 was just too tempting!

my question when u purchase the car did u make sure they had already done the PDI,
since mine had a similar thing because PDI was not done on it since i literally took upon delivery from the delivery track, but mine was on the front bumper sensor
they fail to work , almost crash it . but the dealer took care of it and since then i hav not experienced anything of that sort.

I assume they did the PDI when I bought the car in September. The warning light just came on a few days ago. The car right now is at the Henderson NV dealership, apparently the closest to me. They anticipate fixing it tomorrow and then trucking the car back to me.
Fingers crossed for no damage.
