Over on TOF, ravenred and guanche2k9 reported wondering about it. Maybe I’m not the only nut.

After you are buckled, is there a twist in the belt? When I look at my wife’s Acura, which is set up like you are saying, hers has a twist in it when buckled.

Looks like post 7 when buckled.

I too have the same issue. I tried to U twist the strap and its impossible. You either get a twist above the shoulder or at the lap once buckled up. I was going to raise the issue on my next scheduled service at the dealer.

“We are not alone”

I was even wondering if, somehow, Lexus thought it was in some way better to reverse the belts. They were going for “different” with this vehicle.

Just does not seem like they would make such a simple mistake.

So after all this, these are the best pics I have come up with to demonstrate how the buckle is on the opposite side of the belt than our other cars. Would love to see a pic like this of an LC belt where it is different

I do appreciate the efforts and responses from you guys. This is not really easy to explain or photograph.

^^^^Ok, Now I finally understand. The way your buckle is, is wrong. I've had buckles positioned like that in the past. It can be fixed by manipulating the belt. Folding one end over onto itself and working it so that it reverses itself. an image of my buckle is attached:

Thanks flowrider. I’ll cancel my appointment for the asylum.

i hear you about folding the belt over itself to correct. I have done this with some belts in the past, tried it with this one. The slot so narrow I was not able to. Will try again.

While I’m not sure one way is more “right”, I tried to overlap it and the opening seems to narrow.

So given the way production lines run, is there a pattern? Of why they are different for some of us. Mine is a 2019. How about yours?

I will post my pics when I get back into town - right now I'm out of the country and don't have access to my car. But it seems that my issue is the same as Wkl01 and Exhilr8n (based on the pics). I have a 2018 with Perf pack.

Just ran across this on McLaren Life. We probably don’t need more pictures of properly run seatbelts, but just look at that interior!

And love how this site puts up full size pics so easily.

If I reach up over my left shoulder (LHD) and let the belt come out naturally and follow that orientation down to where it inserts near my right hip, the tab that inserts is aimed upwards, not downwards. Of course it can be rotated, but the belt is twisted where it passes over the seat.

Thanks for confirming that yours is backwards (up side down?) as well.

I am yet to see a photo of any of them that shows the configuration on the orange McLaren pictured above. Some have stated theirs was not like ours, but it’s easy to get this confused.

Still waiting to see if any LC has the belt correct.
