Is our seatbelt backwards too?

Seat Belt strap usage
Does anyone else find using the seat belt strap more cumbersome than not using it at all? I threaded the seat belt through the strap but it seems
more twisted that way. When I leave the seat belt out of the strap the operation is smoother. I also have no trouble reaching the seat belt. Just
wondering what others do.

Same with me. I've had some shoulder issues, so I needed something easier. My other vehicles work effortlessly.
I've decided to leave the strap. As I am about to exit I place the latch just inside the side bolster where it seems to stay after taking a few seconds for the belt to retract.

under the strap. I'm 6'1 and like to drive with the seat low , leaning and pushed back. The back of the seat ends up behind where the seat belt comes out.
So for me works better not using strap.

that other thread was amusing. i've merged both as same topic.
it prompted me to go out into my cold garage first thing this morning to check.
will post pics later but mine appears to be like Exhilr8n in the other thread, buckle points toward the door when not held by the strap and retracted all the way back, but i think the reason that's CORRECT is because the opening on the side of the car is so low that when it's fed up over the seat it's being flipped 180 degrees VERTICALLY through the strap, which makes it then the RIGHT way out and can be fed down to the receiver.
i think.

Yes!!! The seatbelt in the 2021 LC500 convertible is turned the way all other cars I’ve ever had were! Just brought it home yesterday.
Don’t know but it seems that more of the 2019s than mine had it installed reversed.

Just got my brand new 2024 LC with twisted seatbelts. Quite irritating. I think the only way to fix it is to unbolt at the bottom and turn it. Will bring it up on the first dealer service and report back.

Seeing as every single coupe gets delivered this way (mine too as well as the one in the showroom I saw at my dealer), they are not backwards. If you use the strap.
I am convinced it is designed that way on purpose because the "twist" actually follows the design cues (interior and exterior lines) of the entire vehicle. I believe it's an attempt at artistic styling.
When buckled the belt sits properly across your shoulder and lap with no twist anywhere, so functionally it is appropriate.

I am glad you are convinced of the use of artistic form on some of the seat belts. They are not all that way. You may be a Lexus engineer with in depth knowledge of the proper LC seatbelt lacing procedure. The belt is correct, the male buckle is not. Maybe there is no correct way? Every Honda, Acura, BMW, Subaru, Audi, Toyota, and other Lexus car and suvs is different than my LC. Maybe they are not as artistic.

Here is how my buckle and belt sits now that I flipped it, I surmise this is what everyone wishes were "normal".
Now when I buckle it, there is an obvious twist at the lap.
To me this is proof that the seat belt is designed the way that it is and not backwards when it has that slight twist above the shoulder strap as originally posted. It is not an oversight or a mistake.
Furthermore. if you were to unhook the seat belt and physically flip the belt so it wraps the anchor the opposite way (thus correcting your "twist"), the label and stitching at the anchor point will face into the cabin instead of towards the door as pictured below. That would be obviously incorrect.
I flipped mine back to how it came from the factory. As I mentioned I believe this is intentionally designed this way and it doesn't bother me. If it bothers you feel free to ask your dealer or Lexus all of who I guarantee will tell you that this is how it is. What you decide to do about it beyond that is up to you
