Default Is your seatbelt backwards too?

New here, searched but did not find this issue.

Is your seatbelt backwards too? Wondering if ours is a mistake or if Lexus intended this or just screwed up.

Have pics of how the belt emerges from the pillar on the LC and some of our other cars, but this forum forbids my posting them yet

Have you run the belts through the straps on the outer seat tops? I find that my seat belts work just like all other cars that I have owned with a shoulder harness. The belts for the rear seats, however, are different.

Edit:

I just checked in at the other forum, and saw you posted the same question there with pics. I posted over there:

Anyway, I just checked my belts and the belt comes out straight into the seat strap and does not twist. So, no I do not have the issue you have. Have you tried unbuckling the strap and rerunning the belt through?

Lou

I’ll get up pics when I can.

I have taken them loose at the floor in an attempt to correct it, just a bolt with a snap on cover. But it does not. The buckle insert is on the wrong side of the belt.

It seems I have the same issue - I replied with the same comment in the other forum you posted this on. Please keep us posted on your findings.

^^^^I'll post the pict for you. I copied it from the other forum:

But, as I posted above, my belt is not twisted like yours. It goes straight through the strap and my buckle is correctly oriented.

What year? Ours is a 19

I’m hearing some folks are like mine, at least one is not. Can’t imagine ever getting it corrected, just a real curiosity they would do this. But then, they have a light that turns green when the car is locked. Went out of their way to be different.

^^^^Mine is an '18. But, couldn't you just unsnap the belt, and untwist it and replace?

Will really need to get pictures or even a video to show how impossible it is. Have even undone it completely at the floor but ho help. The male tab is just plain upside down on the belt.

Thanks for the pics guys. Flowrider, I can’t really tell from that pic how it goes.

Wkl01, looks like yours runs like mine.

^^^^Not to my eyes. Yours is twisted before the seat strap, mine and Wkl01 are not.

I would unbuckle your strap, let the belt retract. The side of the belt that is facing the door should be on top when you buckle the strap.
