It is quick and easy. I did not want to cut my cover.

Also remember to snap the seat belt holder. I put the actual buckle above the loop so that it would not rattle on the speaker cover.

Are you saying you removed the big plug of plastic from the cover and are still getting the robot fart noises at volume above 50%?

The ML sound system in the LC is average at best. I have the coupe and I too get occasional bass distortion. But I don't blame it all on the sound system. Some tracks are just recorded poorly and some are just beyond an accurate reproduction in the LC.

No I inserted some insulation. I didn't want to modify it too much in case Lexus came out with a fix and tried to say they wouldn't replace since i modified it.

Well that does not work, removing the extra plastic is easy and no one would ever know unless you did accidentally punch a hole in it.

That thick plastic plug is there to protect the subwoofer, not help the sound. And protect it from some considerable forces.

I hear you about not modding anything and sure respect that, but this is easy and it’s hard to imagine Lexus “fixing” this for years if ever.

Ok. I took the cover off and listened to some music. Big difference! You are right. I think the plastic has to be removed as people have said. I do not want to damage the cover material. What did you use to cut the plastic. Any tips would be appreciated.

Ok. I finally got around to cutting the plastic off of my subwoofer cover. It was not at all easy, but I was able to do it with no tragic mistakes. Owners of these cars should not have to do this. Lexus FIX THIS PLEASE!

Sound is much better without the plastic cover. Much cleaner.

Alright! Proud of you! It does take courage to cut into the interior of a six figure car. But well worth it, makes it possible to listen to music over half volume.

Imagine the courage needed for whoever was first to do this. We all owe a debt of gratitude.

Thanks Man. I listened to the sound without the cover and knew it had to be done. It was not easy. But it is so worth it.
