I tried the forums fixes on my vert and still having periodic bass distortion. Utah Lexus dealer is aware of it but not fix. I moved to Arizona last couple of months and will try their service once I take it in for service interval. I would hope they come up with a more standard fix.

The ML sound system in the LC is average at best. I have the coupe and I too get occasional bass distortion. But I don't blame it all on the sound system. Some tracks are just recorded poorly and some are just beyond an accurate reproduction in the LC.

No I inserted some insulation. I didn't want to modify it too much in case Lexus came out with a fix and tried to say they wouldn't replace since i modified it.

That thick plastic plug is there to protect the subwoofer, not help the sound. And protect it from some considerable forces.
I hear you about not modding anything and sure respect that, but this is easy and it’s hard to imagine Lexus “fixing” this for years if ever.

Well that does not work, removing the extra plastic is easy and no one would ever know unless you did accidentally punch a hole in it.

Ok. I finally got around to cutting the plastic off of my subwoofer cover. It was not at all easy, but I was able to do it with no tragic mistakes. Owners of these cars should not have to do this. Lexus FIX THIS PLEASE!

if someone with a coupe could figure out how to remove the cover!!!

Imagine the courage needed for whoever was first to do this. We all owe a debt of gratitude.

Thanks Man. I listened to the sound without the cover and knew it had to be done. It was not easy. But it is so worth it.
