This looks to be a great example of how useful these forums can be. Simple solution to an oops! by Lexus.

They should send out “corrected” covers to us, by end of day tomorrow. Or ok this year. In meantime will be fun to correct ours in the morning.

nice job! was the purpose of the plastic to protect the subwoofer from impacts? (highly unlikely anyway).

so i think that's a convertible, right? i just went out to my coupe to look at the cover and it goes all the way down below that center 'cushion' so nothing like in your pic.

i could see no obvious way to take off the cover.

also, i decided to crank some bassy music.

at over 40 with a couple of very different tracks, ZERO rattle, etc. lucky i guess!

Yes it’s the convertible. I think it is only a problem with the convertible.

How did you cut the plastic off without cutting into the fabric? I am going to do this once I get mine back!

Never had an issue with it in our coupe.

Just had another out of town match, so another chance to play with the LC sound.

Actually, it was the first chance I’ve had to really play with balance and equilizer etc because the “robot farting” sound is gone. Pretty solid system, can go to 62 with dynamic sound and get no real audible breakup of amps or speakers or undue resonances.

And still I wonder, how did no one at Lexus pick this up? The great American philosopher Yogi Berra said “You can see a lot just by looking”. Maybe Lexus never looked (listened).

I can't say that's its a serious issue in the coupe but I do on occasion hear a little distortion and rattle coming from my sub. I had originally just chalked it up to limitations of the system's design. I did however, struggle to get into my back seat yesterday after reading post about applying tape. I also had the hardest time getting the cover to pull off. So much that I left it alone...... I will try again on another day.

Thank you being the Risk Taker that you are. This thing could have gone sideways. But you kept pushing thru till you found a solution. Just want to let you know that I personally appreciate your efforts.

62?

my ears hurt thinking about it being that loud.
