2016 Vantage S V8. Yes the AM is more sports car than the LC. It rides lower, the cockpit has more of a cocoon feeling about it and I much preferred the rear cargo area instead of our rear seats (bonus weight saving also) It had a 6SP manual which I also miss. A little more nimble than the porky LC but acceleration times seemed a tad slower. That's about it. As a whole package, the LC is more car for the money in almost every measurable way. AM also have their issues with electrical gremlins and the interior fit/finish couldn't get my hawkeye quality stamp of approval. Maintenance and repair cost are in supercar territory (4,000$ clutch replacement every 25K, $600 oil change, etc...) but the engine is bulletproof and can go 150K before major maintenance is required. Not as bad as an Aventador mind you but still supercar expense territory. Most parts are always back ordered so the car ended up spending 5 months parked at the dealership in total during my 24 month ownership. Even James Bond wouldn't approve.

^^^^Yup - Those were the reasons I stayed away. A funny note though, about 8 years ago, my wife bought me an electronic scale model of a Vantage for Christmas. She, of course, knew of my lust for the car. She ordered it from England. When I opened it up on Christmas morning, it had a British AC adapter. I ordered one designed for the US.

A lot of great cars out there in the price range of the LC. A lot that will be up for sale very soon with this COVID thing. Same thing happened after the 2008 recession. Luxury items go first. Great time to buy if in a good position.

BTW, I traded in a C7 corvette for my LC. There is no comparison in interior quality. LC is amazing. C7 works for the price.

One thing I find interesting is that with the 2021 model the optional Torsen LSD now contains a Yamaha Performance damper I am very interested in how the addition of the damper will perform and if it is retrofittable.

An available Torsen®*high-capacity torque-sensing limited-slip rear differential efficiently distributes engine power to the rear axle, helping optimize traction, handling and control in a variety of conditions. Meanwhile, new Yamaha® performance dampers elevate every drive by enhancing both stability and ride comfort.

If they are available I would imagine they would be very expensive, being an OEM part and all. What would the benefits of this be? I am not sure I am familiar with this type of damper.

Let's be careful with features and benefits sales pitch. Chances are that this modified damper could only make a few % improvement that most wouldn't feel, but they still announce it as ''elevate every drive'' as if it was a game changer...

I find it curious that while trying to gain more insight on these upgrades, It turns out they are basically "hand me downs from either the rcf gsf isf. I thought it was supposed to be the flagship trickles downward. I am very interested to see how this soft linear stroke front end with the stiffened rear will work in the real world and be a noticeable improvement. Well fingers crossed. Any idea when dealers will be getting them?

The new RX features Active Cornering Assist (ACA) that suppresses understeer when stepping on the throttle in mid-corner, as well as dramatic improvements in the tuning of the EPS, all of which result in a truly linear steering feel, allowing the RX to accurately trace the desired driving line in all types of conditions.

well the GSF isn’t getting any upgrades like handling or spring rates, so with the rcf. Seems like the Lc is the favorite child.

I dunno about you but I wouldn't want any sort of steering assist EVER when driving. Sounds sorta good for people with poor reflexes but I personally wouldn't want it
