Same tires on mine. But I think just about anytime you replace tires more than a few years old, the ride is smoother and grip better with newer and softer rubber.

Pirelli Snow Tires are available
I’m actually at the dealer buying my mew LC 500 convertible (yay!). Living in the Catskill Mountains of New York and not wanting to completely garage the car during the winter, I asked for snow tires, and they ordered Pirelli 21” run flats for me. No problem. They’ll reset the TPMS for me and store the other tires. Was relieved it was that easy after reading the previous responses.

any problem with running same tire size front and rear?
Just curious if there would be problem running the the same size for both front and rear? I am assuming the rim is same for both front and rear. Mine is 245/45/20 for front and 275/40/20 in the rear. If i were to use the front tires for all four given the front is about one inch narrower than the rear (245 vs 275 = difference is 30mm is about one inch narrower)... and the height difference is almost zero (28.66 vs 28.68 inches). Moreover the front set is cheaper than the rear set and I can do your traditional tire rotation. Moreover, i can carry a spare in the trunk for use all sides. what ya think? silly idea? Just a thought.

First off, your assumption is incorrect. The wheels are staggered just like the tires. The 20" wheels are 8½" wide in front and 9½" wide in the rear. A 245/45/20 tire on a 9½" wheel would be a stretch and is not recommended by the tire manufacturers. Overall Diameter is not an issue, the LC was designed to run tires of the same height front and rear. Your LC is not an inexpensive vehicle and buying something "cheaper" really is not in the vehicles DNA.

running front sized tires on the back (using front sized rims because as flowrider points out, the stock rear rims are much wider) will also most likely look completely ridiculous too, due to offsets.

I have used the OEM 21x9.5 wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 size 275/35/21 in the front and back (I found set of OEM wheels on ebay for rather cheap) without any issue.

Squaring up the wheel/TIre size gives different driving dynamics which some like and some don't. Just make sure you have the right tire on the right rim, as oversizing/undersizing a tire on a rim is a safety issue, never mind less than ideal for handling.

That is your answer. I would just put the same sized wheel which should have no issue all around then trying to put the same tire on 2 different sized wheels if you want to rotate tires.

I bought a full set of wheels that were taken from a new LC500 on ebay - two 21x8.5, and two 21x9.5. So, currently I have a total of four 21x8.5 and four 21x9.5. I was running the square set up for a while, but now I am on aftermarket wheels. The last time I searched on ebay there were several sets of LC500 OEM wheels available.

Thanks everybody. I might just run with the narrower rims (8.5") on all four in case the the wider rims in the front rubbed when making tight u-turn. Also, I can carry a spare in the backseat and maybe in trunk on longer road trips.
