The SottoZero 3 doesn't come in the stock front LC size of 245/40/21, it comes in 245/35/21. The stockers are SL (Standard Load) rated @1565 lbs. The Sotto's (245/35/21) are XL (Extra Load) also rated at 1565 lbs. So load carrying is OK, however the snows are 1" less in OD (outer diameter). I would have chosen something different.

Yes, 2 sets of the factory 21 inch wheels
The new set are from a 2020 car
The rear wheels are supposedly lighter on the 2021 xars
This is the only 21 inch snow tire that TireRack has for the car
The parts guy at Lexus did not flag an issue

LC vs NSX
HI, I just purchased a 2021 LC500 Convertible. Absolutely love the car...Was just wondering about your NSX. It was a close 2nd choice to buy when I was deciding between the LC and NSX. I realize they are completely different cars, ones really a GT and the other a true supercar. If you had a choice between the 2 what would you pick? And why? Just curious.

Your infrared is a stunner.
I have had the NSX a bit over 4 years.
It ticked the I want to own a super car box for me.
i would have to say it would be my choice, crazy fast, very comfy, Honda reliable, eats turns in a unique way, very rare, people love it, most have never seen one.
I missed having an open top car, been 15 years since I sold my 2000 S2000.
The LC is more fun for road trips with my wife, she finds the NSX seating too low.
The various engine notes in the LC are hugely enjoyable.
After more ownership time and miles on the clock I will be able to provide a better side by side review.
Especially interested in how good a winter car it will be with the winter tires on (won’t be used in snow).
The NSX has more bespoke to it, engine, tranny, construction.
The LC has the full on Takumi build quality and Is so detailed in and out, like the strap and magnetic latches to hold the front seatbelts.

Thanks,,,I think we're in the same boat...my last convertible was a mint low mile 2008 Viper. Tired of the low seating, cheap interior, over heated cabin, getting pulled over by the police and rough ride etc... Big change going to the LC...lol

Funny we all have owned a previous convertible.
I have only owned one, had a Ferrari F355 for about 4 years. I sold it back in 2011, though.
I live in AZ now......so I that is why I am okay with having this LC 500 as my only vehicle. That, and I work form home now......so I don't really go anywhere!

I remember driving with my wife one summer to see her family back when we were a 2 Accord family.
Bumper to bumper traffic in NY State, there was a guy next to us in a Viper.
He was sweating like a pig, the Viper was vibrating at idle and kind of lurched along when traffic did move.
The driver was so tired of suffering that he pulled off the highway to take a break.

Back in the day my buddy bought a Viper.....kept it about 6 months and sold it for an NSX, which he kept for 8 years.

I had a nice chance to take one of our sons for a drive yesterday before Thanksgiving dinner.
The first thing he commented once seated in the car was, I am just taking this all in.
The first thing that he pointed to was the grab handle design, then he wanted to know what the interior color was called. After commenting on how nice the leather, the controls, the brushed metal are, he was fixated on the fabric used in the door cards. It has grid pattern in it and kind of sweeps along.
We then got into the drive and I did my best to give him the range of engine notes this motor provides. He was wearing a mask and made sure to tell me that he was smiling.

@S2000toIS350, lovely car. I'm looking at virtually the same one, though with a sand top.
Question: I've been reading not entirely favorable comments regarding the LC's interior lighting, particularly the ambient lighting. Have things changed for the 2021 model year and the 'vert? That is - can you describe the interior lighting? Does the ambient lighting dim too much upon moving from Park to Drive? Can you choose between a variety of colors or is it just white? That sort of thing.
Many thanks.

Thanks Redhot
I haven’t noticed much about the interior lighting
I would imagine the toasted caramel interior would be perceived as less dark than those having black roof liners
The opera lights near the rear view mirror work well and the motion sensor on/off feature is quite cool
I do not believe you can change the mood colors in the interior, honestly that stuff is lost on me
I took my wife on a nice cruise today to a park in Oakbrook IL, today
It was above 50 degrees on the way home so we went top down and windows up
The climate concierge feature does a great job of keeping us comfy on the surface roads and the highway
The Pirelli winter tires are a touch louder than the Michelin’s but the ride quality is still quite good, much better than the Bridgestone run flats on my Infiniti

Our Covid 19 on Sundays is to take a day trip to a place for a nice hike.
The destination today was Lake Katherine in Palos Heights, IL. Pleasant place, nice trail around the water, some birds a good day out of the city.
One the way back I noticed a guy to by left taking a video of the car. He was driving a previous Gen LS, black with blacked out windows and a custom quad exhaust. His license plate said bag riders. The car was riding on extra wide tires and had that wheel tilted in toward the top look. The wheels also had that tires could be a lot wider on this rim look. Not my thing overall but nicely executed.
It was around 46 degrees in the afternoon and when I got off the highway back in Chicago, I put the top down, windows up. The climate concierge does such a solid job keeping the occupants comfy on a cool day. Experiencing the city architecture with the open canopy is such a different experience from having the roof up. Another great time in this car.

I didn't know how metallic Ultra White was until I saw it under their fluorescent lights.
