Hmm, I don't have that noise, maybe it's because I have a PPE dual-mode exhaust system When I had the stock exhaust, not for very long, I don't remember it

Met with the Shop Foreman and he confirmed it is the actuators in the exhaust making that sound.

I started up and listened to 2 2021 Convertibles and also a 2018 Coupe at the dealer and they all make the sound.

So yeah....it is normal....

 

I've never heard it either. Will listen next month when she is out of storage.

brand new LC at 8:40 hear the magic horn sound.

 

It doesn't seem to match. The exterior camera view at 8:40 does have the horn sound but at 8:35, you don't hear it at the interior engine start. it was so loud at exterior that I would expect to hear it in the inside shot, and I am surprised the the youtuber didn't mention it.

 

i assume it was two different takes (not the same start up). i've experienced with my own car that sometimes i hear the horn, sometimes no horn. no idea why. just more of the 'charm'

 

well now we're all just gonna hafta admit that we're now all part of the ethereal universal lexus illuminati...its a clarion call, is all...but only heard by the chosen few...

 

It is magnified when in enclosed areas like a garage. Outside it sounds mine sounds exactly like the one in this video.

 

Let's all get over this exhaust flap servo noise and move on. 3 pages on what seems to be a non issue.

Glad to have run across this thread. Our coupe never made the sound, the vert does about a third of the time.

Motor does not have to start to create the sound. Just pushing the start button to wake up the computers can do it too.

Sounds something like a tiny fart to be honest. Sorta cute.
