Default How did all of the whiny Youtube Reviewers FAIL to report the split-screen?????

I have watched literally every single Youtube review about the 2021 Lexus LC 500 Convertible.

Almost all of them follow the same path......beautiful exterior......last-of-its-kind symphonic NA V8.......perfect interior.....omigosh It took me an hour to find the convertible top switch......stupid trackpad where you have to dig through 47 menus to turn on the heated seats......

Ummm.....Why hasn't ANY OF THEM mentioned that you can have a split screen where you can have all of those controls on the screen at any time, if you so choose???

Am I missing something here...???

Great post. As a still-prospective buyer, I spent an hour last night scrolling through the online owner manual trying to determine (finally successfully) that one can split that screen to show more than just the map.

@355F1: Have you had an opportunity to play with the ambient lighting at night? Can you describe it to me? I'm guessing that the only color choice is white - is that true? Can the illumination be adjusted through a reasonably complete scale of low to high? How would you describe the overall effect of the ambient lighting? Many thanks in advance.

In my limited time....the ambient lighting is only bright if the car is in Park.

I absolutely love BMW/MBZ for their ambient lighting. But Lexus's is disappointing. It is basic white....and like some other people say, the cabin is quite dark; for example, the steering wheels buttons are not bright at all.

I do not like driving at night with the dash illumination on Maximum.

Thanks. Not what I was hoping to hear, but not a deal breaker (probably). (By BMW M850ix 'vert has a whole rainbow of choices and a full range of illumination.)

I have set up my split screen from day one to include the seats. Still I'd much rather have seat and steering wheel heat and cool buttons. And a touch screen vs trackpad.

My 2017 Toyota Highlander has split and even 3 screens if you want. And has the buttons I want.

Real first world problems. Sigh!

About driving the car at night, i have to say, maybe because i'm new to driving my car and have only driven it at night a couple of times, i feel a need to be hugely more focused on looking OUTSIDE than anything going on inside, so i don't really miss ambient lighting (which i have, in various colors, on my g90), although it's a cool thing for sure.

I don't have a touch screen on my g90, and obviously don't on the LC, and frankly don't miss it. While the touchpad on the LC is not great (i'd prefer the genesis/others rotary controller), i'm getting more used to it and can get around.

the LC navigation and voice commands are both unforgivably pathetic.

I use android auto on it though which gives google assistant and either google maps or waze, which is great.

oddly, without android auto, the car will not read the phone's music through usb no matter what usb setting i use on the phone. However, if i use a music app on the phone the audio is sent through usb and not bluetooth (which i want for better quality). So i'm still trying to figure out how to have an app on the LC to control music on the phone (i don't use a music streaming service).

Its because they don't have the cars long enough to properly review them, and if you set up and use the concerge system your don't even need to touch anything.

i agree the concierge system is great! not for those who like to fiddle with every aspect/control though.

I find that I still need to go forward or back (seat or steering) time to time with the concierge screen depending on our seasonal climate. No big deal. But I would rather have buttons.
Nice music choice!

Used the Climate Concierge for a 20 minute drive at night on the freeway Saturday and I was pleasantly surprised how WELL it worked!!!!!!!

My concern is that I ALWAYS leave the cooled seats on HIGH from like May-Oct since I live in AZ. I am hoping the concierge will leave them on when it is hot outside.
I did go into the menu and it appears that you can adjust the levels of the seats and such (+/- 2 levels) when the Climate Concierge is ON. I set the seats to +2 so I am HOPING that this will tell the car to always leave the cooled seats on once summer comes.

BTW.....I cannot get enough of this car.....haha....I love it so much!

Oh......yeah.....I am an old skool raver who used to throw warehouse parties back in the 90s/2000s Still can't let go of my love for EDM. Had these plates on my F355 and then transferred them to my IS!!

I'm in AZ too. The cooled seats stay on all summer. The negative thing with the cooled seats, is the noise. Auto helps to some degree, and I turn them off in Oct. Buttons are easier.
