Fun find, thanks
They even put the F badges on the front fenders
One of these days I want to visit Weathertech in Bollingbrook
I have driven past and they have a bunch of buildings
The owner has incredible cars (ex. Ferrari 250 GTO) and is obviously a big supporter of motorsports

Headers and exhaust would void the warranty
Since these cars likely have some Toyota sponsorship, perhaps they are previewing a change for 2022
i still haven’t seen a confirmation that the LC 500 V8 is hand built like for the GSF and RCF

They don't void my warranty except, of course, my exhaust system is not covered! My local dealer is mod friendly. When I brought my LC for the complementary oil change the mechanics all gathered around my car and they called my out to see what was going on. My ISF had full exhaust and headers as well as an intake system. I had the ISF for eleven years and had some recall & warranty work performed. Never had any issues.
I have owned cars since 1957, new since 1962, and I have never left a car stock. Over the years I have never had a dealer problem
Where did you hear that the engines in RCF and GSF were hand built

Your luck (and friendly dealership experience) is fantastic.
I am sure if I had aftermarket headers on my car and toasted my engine, my dealer would fall on the floor laughing if I expected warranty coverage.
I couldn't find the hand built engine info I remember seeing but id find a video (I believe from Lexus) noting the cylinder heads being hand assembled (relevant info starts around 45 seconds in)

that's a great video, thanks. i've never been impressed though by 'hand assembly' (and i certainly would want my engine to be hand made!). robots are way more precise and consistent.

Kind of a craft thing
Also, the robots have limited parameters to evaluate and tolerances and tools/machines change with use (first engine built to 200,000th)
Kind of nice to have one person who cares about the motor doing the work
Honda made a big deal over the NSX motor being hand assembled and then broken in on the bench
My understanding is that Ferrari only hand builds their V12 motors at this point

over the next decade most new cars will be electric and there won't be much that 'hand assembly' can actually do.
