About to purchase a 2018 LC and need advice
Hi all! I'm new to the LC500 forum, but I'm currently an owner of a 2014 GS350 FSPORT (110K miles) and a 2010 IS250C (118K miles).
I'm in final negotiations with a dealer that has a 2018 LC500 will all options including Performance package....29K miles and L/Certified for $70,700 + TTL and doc fee. New tires but they are Dunlop runflats.
I have 2 questions....and I appreciate your input ahead of time.
1) is this a good deal in your opinion? I would buying this Saturday.
2) at this price and with 2021 being a big year for intro of so many EVs...should I hold out for an EV with similar performance?
I'm a sports car enthusiast, and a DIYer, and was looking to get this as days of the high performance V8s are coming to and end. I'm 49 years old and just want one awesome car to drive as I go through my 50s. Wife approved this car for me to buy but doesn't want me to buy another sports car for at least 10 years. I agreed because this price point is a little stretch (we are comfortable and this is definitely not going to break the bank) as we have 3 kids in college.
I'm just afraid that spending this much on a gas vehicle is buying something outdated compared to the EVs that will be out soon.
Thanks!

This is one of the last naturally aspirated V8s, exceptional styling, rock solid reliability, relatively rare and, if you read most of the posts here, unanimously loved by all that own it. By all means get it!
The price seems right in line and it will certainly still be reliable and a head turner for 10++ years.. AND you have your wife's approval. You had better strike while the iron is hot as you know a woman's prerogative is to change her mind at the drop of a hat. (hahaha)
Buy it Saturday and take her to a nice dinner that evening. She'll love that!! (and the LC).

1) sounds like a good deal to me!
2) you can always hold out for something else. EVs are already faster than the LC but for me at least the LC is PLENTY fast enough, and just beautifully executed. teslas, while fast, are nowhere near as luxurious. the new audi etron gt (and cousin Taycan) is spectacular, but you're going to be paying way more than $70K.
as far as the LC being outdated, you're right, it is an anachronism already, with a NA V8, little room, etc., but it's so unique, i just had to get one before it goes away and i'm not a nostalgia type guy and tend to like the newer/newest things, but tesla doesn't do much for me.

Hi all, thanks for your input! I just bought my '18 LC (29.5K miles) for $64,900...what an amazing deal from a Mercedes dealership. They were so helpful and professional. I signed a deal with Performance Lexus in KY for a Certified vehicle and they sold it from underneath me! And they were extremely rude when they apologized (they blamed it on the salesman's lack of experience)...it was the worst car sale experience of my life!
anyways, can't wait to pick this baby up!
