You do realize it has pop-up rollover protection. As does virtually every modern convertible.

Rollover in any car is going to be devastating, and your rollover risk in an LC is pretty low. Re: insurance, mine is $60 a year more than a GSF. Visibility is the only downside for me, but on most days I'll be driving it, it will have better visibility than any other car.

Well, i would agree with you with roof up on convertibles, most don't look great. Exception being retractable hard tops in some cases. But top down? No way the LC500 convertible is "*** ugly"!

the LC 'vert has got to be one of the most beautiful car designs ever executed...the aerial shots of the different exterior colors with the leather interiors
are simply stunning...*** ugly ? visually spectacular ....

So maybe after everyone reads this the dealers asking $10K over MSRP for convertibles will sadden 😢

I hear you about how in almost every case the coupe version is just plain better looking than a drop top.

But to my eyes this LC is an exception. As is my more than twice the price halo car, the Bentley GTC Speed

Blows your hair like mad. If it’s very long, it can be really tough to ever brush out the tangles.

Can be a decrease in performance, added weight and loss of chassis rigidity.

Music is harder to hear.

Papers and things can blow out.

At a stoplight, everyone knows your business. Hears your music. It’s more awkward ignoring the panhandlers.

Less security, easier to break into (softtop).

More expensive. Sometimes insurance is more costly.

Less safe in an accident.

Can get caught by sudden rain if out on a highway where pulling over to put the top up is inconvenient.

Convertible mechanisms have a bunch of moving parts. Can be prone to failure, especially on older cars.

Exposure to sun and wind might not be good for our skin.

For decades I’ve said “A convertible is like a really beautiful woman. Everyone should have one once so they know the problems involved, and whether you really want one in your driveway”.
Agree with the following exception:
insurance is the same with my insurance company
blowing hair doesn’t happen with top down and windows up
put the top up when the rain starts
i like the look of the convertible better then the coup
safety stats are the same on the convertible
put papers in the glove box
turn the volume up on your music when you have the top down
given all this you now have my approval to buy a vert😀

LOL...some of those are funny I don't worry about many of those but I could see where someone might It was funny that last Saturday I did get caught with my top down (usually its with my pants down..lol) when the one rain cloud seemed to find me out of the blue ;( Pulling over, or slowing down, it goes up fast enough before too much of a soaking.

Have you driven a LC Convertible? I think not, there is no wind blowing you hair , paper blowing around you can listen to music and have a conversation at 80MPH. I have owned 5 different convertibles and this one is in a class by its self when it comes to top down comfort.
