Just when I thought I couldn't do anything else to improve the look of my car, I was amazed at how much a high quality, garage floor make-over did to showcase the overall look of my vehicle. For anyone in the Raleigh (NC) area, I would highly recommend Garage Gladiators for the job (garagegladiatorsnc.com). Dave and his team were timely, professional, neat and cost effective. The results speak for themselves.

Sadly, after maybe a month of ownership, someone must have backed into me (didn't notice until days later), with some very minor damage to the bumper cover. Using the service manual, I removed the bumper today to inspect, and thankfully there is no other damage. Now I get to talk to the Lexus dealership and other body shops to get prices on a new bumper.

Run it through insurance and I would have taken it directly to Lexus dealership.

I picked up a new daily driver. Im still keeping the old ES as she aint really worth selling, but at least this little GTI will keep me entertained to and fro work.

6 speed manual, last of the stick shift GTI's before the mk8.5 comes next year.

Nice! 6 speed manual will be fun!

Our family is five decades and three generations of VW fans so we’re very familiar with the fun, practicality, and German quality engineering.

GTI is a great choice. 👍

It’s not bad… just a few electronic gremlins already. The front collision sensor sometimes says it’s disabled. Needs a restart to fix it.

The lane change assist function is the same. Needs to be restarted to enable.

VW software is really bad. Also the build quality is atrocious compared to our LCs. Squeaks and rattles everywhere. You can really tell the economy car roots.

Love the performance and the handling. The small size is perfect in the city to zip around while still being big enough to haul most things. Not at all confident about the reliability and the build quality. For sure not a quality product, but it does its job as a hot hatch

Haven't taken delivery. Sitting in front of PPF shop, a little dusty but looking good. Apologies for the poor quality photo, but the more I look at them I appreciate the purple tinge the lighting (and smudges on my camera lens) add.

Have I broken the record for most pictures of my LC prior to delivery yet?

Cleaned up.
You guys with the brand new LC, do you notice the burning smell after driving the car? It smells like new electronics burning in.
I’m going to live life on the edge and removed the front plate. Really appreciate the grill more when the plate is removed.

Yes, a little smell especially when pulled into the garage. At 1500 now and I believe it is not as noticeable. I am also supposed to have front plate but I am holding out!

I love that smell…electronics+new tires+brake rotor/pads making love for the first times….cherish it. It only lasts a couple hundred miles.

Yep, I have an occasional smell of burned electrical components as well. Nothing horrible but made me worried a little. Tried to figure out which part makes that smell and couldn’t find it.
