J.D Power Survey for my 2021 LC Convertible
Got the J.D. Power survey email today for my convertible and completed it.
I am going to write up my 5k mile report (on my owner's thread here) once I get there (currently at 4,300 miles as I never go anywhere except to play tennis and my gf's house 25 miles away) but I will sum up the negatives I put in the survey.
-Transmission not as refined as it should be for a car that costs this much--gears 2/4/6 hesitation and hard up/down shifts at times
-Mark Levinson not nearly up to par for this class of vehicle
-Interior Lighting too dim
-Backup camera quality subpar
-touchpad not refined (LoL)
-Would like higher-end upgrades available like a full semi-aniline leather interior/higher end stereo option
-why is there a horn-like sound upon startup, turn off, and randomly at times in my garage when the car isn't even on??? (dealer says normal!)
I like this car. A lot
But, like all cars....it isn't perfect.....albeit this one is close....

I completed mine the other day. My only serious complaint: At this price point, the LC500 should have front and surround cameras that, along with the rear camera, produce, among other things, the birds-eye view so common now on other vehicles, including our much-less expensive 2021 RX30. And yes, the backup camera view is pretty much useless - very difficult to discern what it's trying to show me.
(As for interior lighting, I find that it's more than adequately adjustable. I would like options when it comes to color and intensity of the ambient lighting, however. And I was amused to notice last night that the ambient lighting self-dims when you move the transmission out of Park. That's a little...weird...and in my case, not entirely welcome.)

The horn sound is the computer communicating with the exhaust via the leads plugged into the exhaust at the rear of the vehicle. If you unplug them the horn sound will stop and exhaust flaps will stay in the open position resulting in a slightly louder exhaust note.
Be aware if you do this to wrap the plugs so they don't end up getting dirty or damaged.

Agreed with the following items...Back-up camera is pretty bad. Not only is it not very clear (which should be considering even cheap cameras are super clear these days) but when it rains hard enough the camera has no protection and leaves drops of water or blur marks. Tranny does have some clunks during decel...noticed even more with cruise engaged.

Not rich...or even old...LoL (I'm only 43)
But CoVid is the best thing to ever happen to me professionally. Went from being gone 200 nights a year as a Road Warrior to working 20 hours a week from home on Zoom making the same exact net income.
We are never going back to seeing clients face-to-face.
I have A LOT of free time now....haha

Damn that is BRUUTALL. I like driving but not that much ...lol. Although I have become a car snob. I do drive out of state sometimes to flip houses on the side. And with no rental cars available these days I thought about buying a "burner" ride. But you get spoiled after a while and its hard to go back.

J.D. Power Anyone actually fill all that out?
Got the notice and the dollar and an hour to kill so, why not.
30 minutes later it’s 5% about cars and 95% about marketing strategies. A quarter of the questions do not even apply at all to my situation.
Unless someone tells me the experience improves I’ll not be going back there again, will give the dollar to a busker.

I spent a half hour on it. Didn’t make a whole lot of progress. Set it aside for awhile to live my life. Went back to it. Got error messages. Kept the dollar. Thinking about billing them for the other 29.9 minutes of my time.
