Default LC500 pros and cons savagegeese video

This was very enjoyable. I don't drive mine on a track but i'm glad i got the dynamic handling (performance) package because i enjoy the VGRS and rear steering very much and agree with savagegeese that it makes the car feel a lot smaller than it is.

I knew he leased his and pity the person who buys it used when his lease is up

Anyway, enjoy...

I watched the video , he said that he is going to buy a new LC when the lease is up. But your right I would not want his LC, he admitted that he beat the ***** out of it.

Same here, and it would have been good if he had shared any parts failures he may have experienced along the way. Are these cars bulletproof or do that have any Achilles heels......

Agree with his assessment. I've been watching him for years. Became a fan after the RCF video. Really understands what the makers were thinking.

I've been looking at getting an LC for quite a while, so I value hearing the pros and especially the cons. Two things he mentions stand out to me. He talks about how he gets rib pains on long trips, something that might not be evident from a test drive but only after an hour or more of seat time. As a not-skinny person (5' 10", 225 lb), that's especially a concern for me. I know the Touring package has more accomodating seats than the higher packages, but one has to accept the tighter seats to get the features of the Performance package. This may be the thing that drops the LC from contention for me. He also mentions that his insurance has been increasing, possibly due to insurers finding out the real repair costs after more LCs crash. He gives the now-infamous example of the $10K trunk lid and expensive doors. It seems to me that Lexus, the sole supplier of body panels, unnecessarily made components out of likely-irrepairable carbon-fiber embedded plastic just because they could (and still end up with a heavy car). While one could say "let insurance pay for it", that does no good in 10 years when one cannot find a replacement (plus, insurers will up the insurance enough over the next few years to make back a good fraction of the cost).

no issues for me on 3 hour trips (6'1, 185 lbs). Insurance is a hair more than my former GSF.

i assume if he'd had any failures he would have mentioned that. he obviously loves the car and as RJCFM mentioned he intends to get one once his lease is up.

did a 4 hour drive today and my calves begin to ache a bit after a couple of hours, probably because my long legs are pretty much going horizontal. (I'm 6'3, 210lbs)

no issue with ribs like savagegeese mentions (or back, etc), i find the seats supremely comfortable. Maybe he gets rib pains because he's driving the car so hard.

Its very easy to beat the crap out of these cars. They are fast and hook up really well. Its difficult not to stomp on the gas every time I leave from a light.. I'm averaging 15MPG hahahaha

That is what I figured. These cars were engineered on those wheels so I doubt I would change up to save $500.

I just finished spending a weekend in SW FL and took my LC there. 2.5 hr drive down and 2.5 hr drive back up. I'm 6'1 / 190lbs with no issues whatsoever. The only issue I had (which is my fault) is the fact that I had problems clearing many driveways, roads and couldn't go over speed bums - reason why: dropped suspension and lip kit. I only have 1.5 in of clearance in the front. Aside from that - no issues....
