I've read where the older units can be updated by the dealer to accommodate CarPlay. We have a 2018, can anyone verify this is possible and if so, what do I need to tell my dealer to update? I said something to my sales person about this and he had never hear of it. Thank you!

Have your sales person check with service.

Have your Lexus Service Writer check your VIN in Service Lane Portal and scroll toward the bottom.
Header for "Apple Car Play eligible?" should show Yes DRGibbons is correct, couple of hours, couple hundred $.
A few other models also had the late production start up, early models had a lower base price
that went up when the ACP became standard
