Theres a chance that brembos may have been used in the 2017-2018. Im not entirely sure. Mines a 2021. I was a little irritated to be honest. I was about to get the brembo logo put on the caliper. I had to go with the standard logo of lexus and the word. Im not putting Advics logo on them. It looks bad and who the hell has ever heard of advics anyways. Brembo is a bit iconic in the car world.

I knew Advics made sliding calipers didn't know they made HiPo fixed calipers But, just did a search and yep - it's true!

The powder coating site called it "Misty Lava". Like a 70% gloss finish. https://www.prismaticpowders.com

They dont seem to be a bad brand but they certainly dont have any reputation, at least from my searching. If they do Id say its nothing like Brembos reputation and long standing use. Not to make things worse but I doubt they are worth what Lexus prices them at, now that. I mean, you guys can pop a wheel off and check your caliper. Maybe Im missing something. Arent there two levels of brakes for the LC? The ones on my car are considered the performance brakes, going off the sales windows sheet. So I dont know!

^^^^Yes there is two levels of brakes on the LC, but that applies only to the pads. Calipers are the same regardless of the pad used. I have no problem with my brakes (I had Brembos with Ferodo pads on my ISF). My LC brakes, with the performance pads, have very good feel, bite and fade resistance. I was thinking of Ferodo pads in the future, but now I know why I can't find them The only aftermarket pads I have located for the LC are Project Mu Type PS and Toms Performer pads. I had PM HC800 pads on the rear of my ISF and liked them. I will probably go with the PM Pads when, or maybe before, its time to change.

Oh theres no question that the brakes themselves are good its just that sales people seem to say they are brembos, on a regular basis, it seems. Slight misrepresentation. Either way, I dont think many of us expect a cars salesman to actually know more than the standard info on any car.

Seeing that we are talking about brakes, I have a comment/question. I had always believed that the brakes on all 4 corners were going to be two-piece rotors. I was surprised when I found only the front rotors were two pieced and the rears not.

Ill post some better pics later but heres an initial shot of the car with the rsr springs, 25mm spacers all around, and powder coated wheels and calipers.
The fronts could stand for 30mm spacers, to match how flush the rears, just a random thought.
