Unhappy Front Grille Damage

As seen in the two attached pictures (if you can see it) my lower piece of the grille is pretty chipped up from rock damage. When I got the protection film the guy said the kit doesn't come with that piece. At this point I am looking to see if anyone has ideas on how mask it over with some type of film

(maybe black) or other ideas so it looks better. Short of replacing it it is too late to protect it.

Plasti-Dip is ideal for small bits like that it will also take damage but if in black won't be too noticable. The shop that did your film should have custom cut a piece that is the most vulnerable part of the entire car.

So Plasti-dip would make it look better even after its been damaged? I would be curious if anyone else that got the film installed actually got that part done as well. I would guess they didn't. Thanks for the info.

i wouldn't say that, i figure a good shop can fill any chips before painting and it should look good/great.

You can sandblated those area, and have pro installed gloss black vinyl wrap for $ less than painting. The key thing is you find the good shop. I have my 2016 RX F Sport de- chromed all away around with 3M vinyl, and it still on my car until now. And yes I went thru automatic car wash all the time.I had another shop did on my other car, and just in 1 week it peeled off.

I was exaggerating (as usual) But still its such a small area hard to get a pro to commit to it. I was hoping for it to be something more I could do. Like some 3m film that could be applied. Although bending and stretching it may be a challenge. I assume you have to replace the entire grille if I went with something new?

Sweet, I like the look of that. Where do you get it? Is that real carbon fiber or just the appearance of it?

Thanks, I assume you mean a shop that installs film on vehicles? May I ask what they charged you so I have an idea?

^^^^No, not a shop that does film and shop that does wrap. Here:

https://www.aandmgraphics.com

As far as cost, I don't know, I had more than just the grill done. Look Here:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lc-...trim-wrap.html

Total for all was $535.
