Just pulled the trigger on a LC 500 Convertible
I just pulled the trigger on a Red on Red LC 500 convertible. Not the biggest fan of the Red exterior, but love the red interior. I figure i could always wrap the exterior (miami blue).
In Vancouver, there are absolutely no 2022 LC convertibles so my only choice was to order 1 (would have taken 6 months to 1 year according to all the dealers ive talked to), or take this one which only popped up because the deal fell through with the original buyer. There's also a black on black LC 500 convertible coming in a month or two, but my wife says spending 151,000 Canadian on a black interior is ridiculous.
I was cross shopping the Aston martin vantage which i seriously seriously love, but once again 6 months + waiting list and questionable reliability. The GST in Canada is going up in September, with an extra 10% added to vehicles over 100k MSRP so i had limited time to buy something i like before paying more to the communist government. Our taxes locally here are already insane, 26% on the LC, and will turn into 37% come sept
Anyways, this will be our 5th Lexus and a good successor to my Sc430.

Congrats on the LC500, looks great. I have an LC500 on order, build is complete and it is scheduled to arrive week of 16 May here in Ottawa so it will be over 5 months waiting. My understanding of the new tax is that it is only on the amount over 100K, not the total amount. Still a gouge though!! That Aston Martin looks good too.
When do you get to take delivery or do you already have it??

I'm taking delivery of it tomorrow.. i found a minor imperfection and told them to address it. Its doesnt catch the finger nail, so its not through the clearcoat, but i found it when i examined it with my high powered LED light.
As for the tax, i was told by Aston Martin that its for the entire %. Not 100% sure, but i dont want to wait to find out.

Why would they limit the options in the states but not in Canada? also we only have 1 package available in Canada. it just comes fully loaded, no way to add anything or take anything away.

Wow - never seen Red on Red LC before.
Looks great.
I actually drove the new Vantage this weekend. It was very high spec with crazy option list, $204k MSRP. Definitely very fun car to drive and sounds amazing.
Did you consider the Ftype?

no, not a big fan of the proportions of the F type. Its not as stretched out as the LC or the Vantage. Looks a bit too compact, especailly from the rear. Maybe a bit too sports car, not GT enough.
Im replacing my Maserati GranTurismo with this LC. Going to really miss this Maz, but a lot of its characteristics are shared wtih the LC. The big haunchs over the front and rear tires, the NA v8 that makes a great sound (i argue the maz sounds better), even down to the red seats. By the way, in this stupid market i was only able to get 50k for my maserati when i paid 160k for her back in 2008. She only had 44,000kms... that next owner is going to be one lucky SOB
Yes the vantage MSRP goes up pretty fast as soon as you remotely touch the configurator. this is the demo in the showroom (they wont even sell it, says its required by aston corporate to keep it there for show)
