Default Headlights too hot?

I don’t know if I should make a warranty claim because the dealer would have to replace the whole head light probably?

Factory defect should be replaced.

I am hesitant for a dealership shop to pull out the headlight. Thats major body work and most likely will not aim correctly. I saw it cost 2600 for the headlight and probably at least 3 hours to do over a little blemish

I say again… ‘The Relentless Pursuit of Perfection’ is gonna destroy us all!
Somethings just aren't worth the hassle in getting fixed. Maybe dealer will compensate to forgo repair.

Get it fixed and I would only trust the dealership to do the work. It should be warranty work.

i don't believe it's 'major body work' - i have no doubt the lights are intended to be replaced if there's problems. and you didn't pay a load of money for the car to have that kind of defect. i'd get it done in a heartbeat.

you'd really rather drive the car with that defect than get it fixed for free!?

Free – Yes! Out-of-Pocket – No!
This is a minor imperfection. I suspect that there are very few 2018 LC’s that are perfect. If it is still under warranty, then that is a blessing.

Huh? how is it the dealer's fault and feel that they have to compensate to the owner. This is an obvious manufacturer defect. If anything, the dealer would love to do the work as they're getting paid by Lexus.

I would trust the dealer to do the replacement now rather than keeping the defect until the warranty runs out. It's a part replacement not body work. Any reputable Lexus dealership should be able to handle it.

Are you serious?

You don’t think a Lexus dealer has the ability to replace a simple headlamp housing?

There's nothing wrong with this discussion continuing, even if you disagree with the consensus that the dealer is the best place to get the light fixed and it's not 'body work', and the dealer has no obligation to compensate the owner for a manufacturing defect.

yeah. Only your answer does not make any sense. A car dealership is not responsible for manufacturer defects. Period.
