Default What a scam (bad car deal)

Nice car and great price. As you look at the history car has salvage title and flood damage. The car is worthless and someone unknowing would buy this POS.

I guess it will be very much a "seeing is believing" experience. It does make you wonder just how much water went into the car if the seat motors got flooded and were the carpets removed/replaced. Doesn't sound like it, but given its price tag, it seems expensive to me. Wouldn't be my first choice, that's for sure.

If Insurance totaled it more than likely the chassis was submerged in water.

I don't think it's a scam. They're being up front about the salvage title. There's a price at which it would be worth buying, but I don't know what that is, it's not the car for me.

On the other hand, the dealer says they got it with 5K and now have 17K on it. If that means they have driven it for 12K without problems, that would indicate all may be well with it. One would have to do a little more research to affirm those numbers and use. Also, I would want to fly into town, and personally take it to a mechanic to go over it in all detail and note any areas of possible problems relayed to me in person.

If all the water damage was below the seats, that may not be so bad. That wouldn't affect the dash or motor electronics most likely. It wouldn't hurt the drive gear.

Of course, the price would be negociable too.

you'd have to know the shop doing the work. Reputation, honesty, knowledge in automotive. Are they like a *****in rides who are capable of a complete restoration, warranties? Price, lots to consider here with homework being needed for sure. In the end, lots of hrs labor wise as well.
