Hello hello everyone,
I was fortunate enough to experience the new LC 500 convertible last week, the car sounds incredible with the top down (much more engaging than my SC430).
I think the LC500 is on my dream car list!
Here is a clip of the one I was in for anyone wanting to hear it.
I wish Lexus would add a hard top convertible instead of the soft top. If weight is the main concern, I'm sure they could figure out a way to take 100lbs off the car somehow to compensate for the hard top.
^yes. Too bad hardtop convertibles are going the way of the dodo.
My sc430 is quieter with the top up than the LC and its 20+years old... and who cares about the weight anyways, the damn porker is already 4500lbs. wahts another 1000lbs, just add more HP
I actually prefer the look of a soft top; I never thought hardtop convertibles looked right. Plus it's a four-layer soft top, it's super quiet with the top up. Mine's also a different color, which I think makes it look cool.
id be down to buy an add on hardtop for the LC convertible if there was a 3rd party manufacturer who makes one (sort of like the miata where they have the extra hardtop you can attach). I think it would look pretty good.
Interesting....I would still be reluctant to do this mod from a third party. In my mind, I would treat it the same as gettin a third party Sunroof. Too Scary!
i was hoping its removable like the miata's one. throw it on during the rainy season and enjoy all the benefits of a coupe. Summer time comes, put the hardtop in the garage and enjoy top down most of the time.

I probably ignorant to the term "hard tops" but if you have to get two (or more people) to take off the top each time I for sure would NOT want one. I had t-tops on my Mustangs back in the day and that was a pain in its own right. Plus what would you do if you were driving with top off and it started raining (had this happen a number of times)? End up with the LC swimming pool feature? Plus in states like Arizona/Florida I venture to guess others are like me. Just leave the top down most the time. Just put it up for emergencies or to secure the vehicle while at a store or whatever.
