Jaguar F-Type P450 (savagegeese review)

I'll be the first to admit I am no fan of pop and bang given the very reason you cited, i.e. it can't be good for the exhaust system. I know there will be some who will say otherwise, but to ignite unused fuel in a relatively feeble component (the exhaust system when compared to a cylinder head), is surely asking for trouble. I often wonder whether this does indeed create damage, and perhaps I can be enlightened by those with practical experience?

Um, no Jaguar dealers don't turn the noise feature off during servicing. My F-type has been in for service twice a year since 2015 and is still as loud and obnoxious as ever.
FYI - My 2015 V8 has never needed a repair - however the soft-touch plastic coating on the interior buttons delaminated and I had to replace the buttons for cosmetic reasons.
The snap crackle and pop is more prominent on the early V8 models and is very easy to replicate by: putting the car in "dynamic" (sport) mode, putting the transmission in sport mode, punch the go pedal, get the revs up, then completely let off the gas -- you'll hear that exhaust blast away the fuel overrun and annoy everyone around you..

I used to buy jags ... most spent more time in the shop than on the road. So no more Jags for me. Even if that was not the case though, I still prefer the LC. Better build quality / materials, better GT car and drop in it Sport + and you have a hoot! If I wanted a very fast luxury GT I would not buy the F-Type (reliability not withstanding) ... That's what I have my Bentley Continental GT Speed for. ... although I was almost tempted to trade in the Bentley for an Aston this year... I am glad I did not and got the LC Bespoke instead.

I was considering the new DB12 actually. Problem with Astons is YOU NEED THE WARRANTY because they WILL break during the period. They are famous for that. Grad I did not get one after spending the past month with my new LC. The LC is a third of the price with better build quality and materials and in many ways more fun.
