I’m a little curious too. I have an OG inspiration. The phrase on the carbon fiber is kinda vague. Inspiration series of a 100. Surprised I can’t find out which number of the 100 mine is. There is no plaque in the car that I’ve seen. Wonder if there is a way to find out?

just got back from a thrice yearly trip to the bay area (if you saw a photo of the granddaughter...) anyway in the mecca of profligate
spending - as some have observed - the 911 's were everywhere (from the rear, probably the second-best looking car on earth) whereas
i saw exactly NO LC's .... the sales numbers of these rare birds are infinitesimally small; if you do the math (40 int/ext combos)/total sales,
and factor in custom orders (such as mine) most of us are driving either one-of-a-kind vehicles or pretty close to it ....

Lexus apparently was late at coming to the realization that LC IS customers would consider their issue numbers important. So the ‘Series of 100’ was originally all that was advertised and offered. However, other manufacturers were being more specific and saw the value in tagging theirs with actual production numbers ‘#001 of 100’. As always, Lexus finally came around at the expense of its initial buyers. And to the best of my knowledge, there is no way to recover for initial owners.

here's something to consider: if you do the math (1600 v / 40int/ext/choices) you get way less than 1 in 100,
making the 1 of a 100 Inspiration Series likely more common than most .... just figurin; numbers dont lie

Everything you’ve stated may be factually true. But that calculation adds no real marketing or resale value for the LC compared to the IS designation.
