I’m not holding my breath for my preferences in a coupe to show up anywhere any time soon. Evidently, dealers are able to see the entire inventory of all vehicles “at a port or on a boat from Japan”. Interesting but only one dealer even mentioned this. The proactive guy is looking to see what’s coming in to try to execute a trade. Anyway, only 32 LC coupes at port or on a boat and none in my color combos. Willing to wait.

There is a world of difference between a C8, 911 and an LC. The C8 and 911 are more akin to each other than either are to an LC. The LC has a totally different personality and definitely does not belong in that group. If you are a fan of either (C8/911) Do you actually settle on an LC?

it’s a tough choice.
when I was looking myself without driving them it’s hard to imagine the differences .
also the price points. Longevity. Appeal.
Each had a different philosophy when built.
that being said my mind would change constantly depending on what mood I was in. Some days I’d want the Porsche more. Other days I’d want the lexus more. Up to now haven’t decided which is good I guess as we wait for the prices to stabilize.

Exactly. Someone who's cross shopping the 3 have absolutely no clue as to what kind of vehicle they want.

FWIW, I just got a text from one of the *several* dealers I'm working with (only for the allocation waiting list, some with refundable deposits, etc.) and he said that Lexus just opened up ordering but only through the end of the week for three models, including the LC. I gave him my preferences, and a refundable $1k deposit (which I hadn't done yet). He's going to enter it into the system tomorrow and see if it will actually be accepted. I'm hopeful but not counting on it.

Interesting that none of the other dealers let me know that this was happening.

his boss told him to get orders/sales any way he can before the end of the month so he can get a bonus.

Indeed. For now I'm just going to put him/dealer in the same category as the others, and we'll see what happens.

Well, the sales rep called and said the system accepted the order, which might not mean much... But the next update would be the build date. Not holding my breath but fingers crossed.

Many ppl cross shop these cars for sure especially convertible versions.
Any buyers that are looking for a $100k + weekend toy expect to be able to custom order one to their spec. That is literally half the fun of buying a NEW car.

I have a 911 and really enjoy driving LC.
Its a different driving experience but very fun and enjoyable imo. The LC holds its own on backroads but its not a track car for sure.

Some ppl on here may not realize that 911 comes with comfort suspension and all the luxury features you can want especially how its setup on Targa or Convertible.
Yes you can also make it more sporty with sport suspension, Sport Chrono pack etc. But base versions can easily be used as cruisers and daily drivers. Hence so many older folk and women buy 911s.

So when you bought the 911 and LC500, you were cross shopping with a Chevrolet (c8)??? Although most people use them for the same things, they are worlds different.
And ofcourse people spending $100k+ want to customize at that point....don't think anyone is arguing that. Approaching half a mil on my '23 Lambo and I wouldn't have remotely considered it if I couldn't build it the way I wanted, lol.
And I'm just speaking from personal experience with friends who have 911s (whom bought NEW) and C8's (new). The 3 cars were simply not cross shopped. But I'm sure someone out there has.
