Seems like.....a helluva exercise to have to go thru just to determine whether or not a vehicle is equipped with LSD. Toyota was wise enuf to put a warning lite on my Tundra. Why not the same for other vehicles unless all LC’s have LSDs.

I'm a Lexus Technology Specialist so I can access TIS.
It used to be easier for everyone to get this and service history data as well.
It is fun and rewarding to help guests in person and here virtually, the questions
and situations a bit more diverse on line.

Link to a good explanation of the Torque Sensing "Torsen" differential.

Don't feel bad.....Everyone isn't built to understand engineering.....We are all blessed with inherent personal talents and this just happens not to be one of yours.

I don't know how to break this to you... but your tundra does not have a mechanical LSD (unless it's a 1st gen when it was an option)... there is a warning light on the dash that tells you if the electronic auto-LSD is enabled / working (it uses alternating the rear brakes to make the differential send power to the side with more traction, and it works well in practice) but it is indeed an open-diff.

Ok I checked…..And my sticker does say Automatic Limited Slip Differential..... And yes you are correct in that it is not a mechanical LSD but achieves a similar function electronically.....I just love folks who pay attention to the details....Thanks
