LC Accents In Black
Hey guys,
I've noticed several LC's with the silver accents (front grille surround, rear exhaust tips, rear lower bumper, katana blade on roof) and the headlight and tail light surrounding accents done in black. Have any of you done this to your LC, and if so, how did you do it? Is it wrapped or painted? Once I get mine, I'm thinking giving it that treatment and would like to get some feedback of how to go about it (with quality work).
Your input would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

I've been tempted to do some of this on my white LC too. Check with the crew at Vibe Motorsports. They're painting the chrome trim on their customs in gloss or satin black. See:

In my experience, it's always best to remove the trim pieces before painting them. It might be possible to vinyl-wrap some of the pieces as well. The chrome along the bottom lip of my grille got lots of tiny nicks quickly. I've been thinking of painting or wrapping that piece with a more durable finish. I don't know how easy it is to remove the grille, but I suspect the entire nose-piece needs to be removed. So rather than taping and spraying that area, I'm considering a vinyl wrap. That way, I can remove it if I don't like it.

Thanks for posting. I had been wondering how the blackout trim would look. Not as good as I thought, especially the light surrounds. Instead of at least looking somewhat chrome “metallic” stock, they look cheap plastic in black. Maybe looks better on a grey or black car.
