LC500 Extended Warranty
I was wondering if any of you have gone to your dealer and have gotten a quote for an extended warranty for your LC's. I've been thinking about it, as I will probably keep mine beyond the factory warranty period. Just thinking about a recent repair covered under warranty --> had to replace my door handle, that wasn't popping out, and the cost of the part alone was something like $1,900!!! Add labor to that, and you're probably close to the full cost of the extended warranty plan.
Once I go, and get some pricing, I'll share what they offered. I'd love to hear the same from other members please.

Me, I prefer to "self insure". I've owned cars since 1957, new cars since 1962. Most recently, my ISF that I had for 11 years. I'm sure over the intervening 62+ years, I've saved a LOT of money on extended mechanical insurance.
Besides, I've modded every car I've ever owned to some extent, and might have had issues if I ever tried to invoke extended warranty insurance. Though, my current dealer is mod friendly.

I got suckered into getting the extended warranty when I bought my car but I came to my senses and canceled it a couple weeks later. I never brought any of my previous cars to a dealership for any kind of service.

I am interested to see how much other countries have to pay for a 2 year extended warranty on the LC500
I am in the UK and my LC is coming up to 3 years old and they want £2350 ( approx $3000 )

I never get or recommend automobile extended warranties. Used car warranties are especially bad, because they’re expensive. I advise self-insuring for that sort of thing. Only about 12 percent of what people spend on an extended warranty goes to cover the cost of repairs. That means around 88 percent is profit, overhead, and commissions. Does that tell you how useful they really are?
The insurance companies make a lot of money on that, and you, on average, benefit very little. A lot of used car dealers make more money on the warranties than they do on the cars.
Stay away from that crap.

These are old names and numbers, they might not work there anymore, but you can ask for someone else if that's the case. I sent someone a DM that sent me a DM.

I know it’s not a Lexus, but I bought an extended warranty for an Audi R8 and it paid out $11,700 on the first repair. I agree most of the time it makes sense to self insure but with such an expensive car I did it more for piece of mind, I’m currently looking at LC’s and with Lexus reliability I doubt I would buy the extended warranty but would be curious to get quotes.
