GPS status NG
Hi Guys, I entered the hidden menu (under System Sensors Check) of my IS250 2014 to verify if there was something wrong with my GPS and it was showing the following:
1 - Reception number - no matter where I was outside, inside with clear skies or cloudy I could not get any "P". I got some "T"s but nothing more. At most I got a bunch of "T"s but generally speaking I got only two or three "T"s and then nothing
2 - Status - NG
3 - Measurement ratio - 3D: 1% (not sure) 2D: 22% NG: 77%
4 - Date - It was not updated as I didn't have any active signal to track my position
5 - Position - Both Latitude and Longitude showing zero
I ran a Failure Diagnosis to check if there was something wrong with other systems like EMV-M, AMP, DISP and everything and I always got OK for all of them. I tried to change the GPS antenna by another OEM, from a wrecker, but it did not resolve the issue. Not sure if the issue was the antenna or if this antenna was broken and the issue is truly the antenna. I bought another GPS antenna but this time an aftermarket. Does anybody knows if an aftermarket antenna would work in an OEM head unit? I've seen the other way around, people using OEM antennas in aftermarkets head units.
Also, anybody could shed some light if not antenna could be something else? head unit?eventhough Ive been getting OK messages
thanks
