Help with non cd 93 ES
Just picked up a 93 es 300 w/o a cd. I'm a little confused after searching the forum. The head unit does not have the "cd" button, but there is the white harness plug behind the left trunk trim. Does this mean I can pick up a head unit & changer and do the install? Or am I better off going with a FM modulated changer. Are there any modulated changers that don't lose sound quality? Any help inthis matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan

If I remember what I was told about mine; the ES was only fm-am-cass. However they did prewire for a CD changer on the back driver side.
I think an FM 6 disk Pioneer was the factory option as all the audio equipment is just OEM Pioneer until atleast '95/'96. Anyone wanna back me up on that?
I'm getting within three weeks of ripping the rest of mine out & the cd changer is next on the list. I'd be more than willing to sell you this one dirt cheap b/c I hate it LoL!
*edit, sorry I was diging in the forum for something else before I saw the post date. <grins>

Toysrme & Lexusaudio,
Thanks for the replies. I ended going with the Alpine FM modulated unit. The sound quality is pretty good, however I did lose a little bit of quality thru the FM signal. Install was a PITA, as I couldn't figure out how to get the center vent out to get to the two upper radio retaining bolts. I managed to pull the radio forward just enough to disconnect the antenna.
Thanks,
Dan
