Default Nakamichi radio for GS400

I have heard that the Nakamichi radio handle highs better than the Pioneer counterpart in the GS series. If this is true, would the Nakamichi radio plug right in, or would I have to get a new harness? I have a 1998 Lexus GS 400. THanks for the help!

Including the head unit, the Nakamichi has a different amplifier and equalizer. The rear subwoofer is different as well (along with its own amplifier). There may be a few other things different as well. The Nakamichi does have better highs (possibly due to different tweeters) and deeper lows (due to the different subwoofer and separate amp), but I find that my stock GS400 stereo is fine.
