2024 RX 350h: how to fix ML systems sound from cutting off?
I have a 2024 RX 350h with the Mark Levinson sound system. The sound sometimes cuts off after a while, which from Googling and searching this forum seems to be due to the amp overheating. What generally happens is that I listen to music loudly for a while, and then all sound (from CarPlay, regular radio, and Lexus navigation) stops, except for vehicles chimes, such as the parking sensors. The sound works again after the car has been off for an hour or so (assuming this is because the amp is back to normal operating temperatures).
I took the car back to the dealer who did nothing because there were no error codes. The dealer did tell me that the loud music might be causing this. Is there any solution here? I understand I could just turn the music down, but that defeats the purpose of a nice sound system to me. Additionally, I am usually listening to music at volume level 40 of 60 when this happens, so not even at all the way up. I am worried that the amp will end up going out completely at one point, but I supposed I do have just under four more years of the warranty to cover that. Any ideas?

I’d recommend calling Lexus corporate since they decide on warranty repairs. The dealer is stuck following the warranty rules while corporate can modify them.
if I put my RX ML on 40+ the highs are so harsh it literally hurts my ears.

Hey @Urlik can you please DM me or share here more about the harshness? Mine (RX 350h 2024) has the same issue and I think it's some flaw in manufacturing.

I just had this happen to me for the first time today with the ML system. I had the volume at 45 and everything turned off. Why am I paying extra for an upgraded system that cant handle like one? I feel like I got ripped off.

You need to call Lexus customer support line and complain so they hurry the fix
