Default no power to the radio

just as the topic says. there is no power to the radio in the morning or at night if they car has not been on all day. i live in so.cal. so its not that cold, and i know its not the fuse because i changed that and the cd changer has power just not the radio head unit (all stock). The AC unit works so i thought maybe a bad negative grounding wire? i'm really lost and couldn't find anything searching. Not really a big problem just annoying so any help would be great thanks.

Not sure, but have you checked the connectors behind the dash panel? Maybe it came loose?

ya that was the first thought so i took the whole thing out and made sure there was no loose wires behind the face plate. i just don't want to take my car to lexus and have them tell me its going to cost both arms and a leg to get it fixed. it wouldn't be a problem with my alternator would it?

Doesn't seem like it would be the alternator if all other electronics in your car works.

Just re-read your original post. The radio headunit doesn't work after you let the car sit for a day? So does the unit work at all? If so, how do you get it to work?

when i get in the car in the morning or at night when its cold and has been sitting all day there is no power to the radio. When i get in my car at about 12 the raido won't come on but i can press cd or anything else and there is power. I also noticed at night if i drive for a while (20-25 min), the lights on the head unit will start to flash on and off as the power comes and goes, this lasts for about 5 min and then it will turn on and stay on. so to answer your question, it only works if i let it sit for a day and don't start up the car until mid day when its warm out side.
