Default TVs in the Head rest

I noticed some folks placed tvs in the headrests. I bought 2 tvs from ebay however and I was wondering how hard it was to place into the headrest? Has anyone done this themselves?

You have to measure it exactly and cut the headrest to fit, then run the wires. Unless your REALLY good, I would leave this to the pros, as your leather could end up all bunched up around the TV instead of nice and flush!

I swear more and more FLA CL'ers pop up everyday

Or depending on what u wanna do with your car later down the line..try to find the same exact headrests from another car......take out your stock....and place the headrests in the other ones...so if u decide to do it or mess up u can always fall back on the orginials..or if u wanna sell your car back to the dealer or trade it u still have the orginal head rests...Jus a thought...

chicotrini -

you'll probably get a better response if you post in the audio forum, when I was new to Club Lexus I didnt know that there were more then just one forum, when you click on forums at the top it will take you to the forums screen, but then you have to scroll down to look at the rest of the forums, naturally like any newbie I just saw GS300/400/430 and posted...just thought id give you a little insight ... your thread will most likely be moved by a mod - never seen you here before so WELCOME TO CL!

edit- my bad, i didnt even look at how long youve been a CL member, youve been one longer than I have! haha

I've done it on cloth headrests in a couple different vehicles, and it was pretty easy. Cut a hole, run the cable, slap the TV in. I can see how you might have a problem with the leather maybe bunching up as mentioned though. You can't stretch it like cloth. If you feel confident in your ability, go for it. Some of the "pros" these places pay to do installs aren't any better than any of us, and I'm sure you would be more careful than any of them because it's your ride. Just my .02

I would just have it done......its about 150 per headrest around here. You don't want to mess up and have it look like a peice of crap job. Just get it done right!
