Question Gonna add Subs. Rear deck or Traditional Trunk? Please respond :)

Hello.

Here is the deal. I have 2 JL12w7's, JL 500.1 AMP, 4 Rockford Digi Caps.

My dilemma. Not sure what type of install to do.

How many of you have mounted them in the rear deck? In place of the factory subwoofer? Have you guys/gals went w/ 1 or 2 subs? Obviously a lot of fabrication will have to be done to install it in the rear deck. I have a friend that is very good w/ fiberglassing etc. What were your results? Did you like havin the speakers right in the rear deck? Was it too ear bursting?

How many of you have just had a traditional custom install in the trunk? Did you have a lot of rattling? DO you wish you had put the sub(s) in the rear deck instead? I would suppose you had to do a lot of dynamat in the trunk.

I really want to do the rear deck install. I have not made up my mind if i will use 1 or 2 jl 12w7's. If i use 2, i will either upgrade to the jl 1000/1 or buy another jl 500.1 for each sub. Well, any comments suggestions are welcome. thanks!

I was going to say that the 500.1 isn't enough for both subs but it looks like you know that.
I would say go trunk man, how will you enclose them if you go in the deck ?
I wuold say put em in the trunk and use the hole in the deck you were going to as a port into the cabin, open your windows for a little SPL increase and you are good to go.
but you lose trunk pace everything in life is a trade off.

Hi, actually, i have 2 500.1 jl amps. 1 for each sub. I am beginning to think thought that i will just use 1 sub and 1 amp. i dont need that much bass. Also, i have decided that i will put the sub in the rear deck. however, im gonna have to cut out a hole big enough for the jl to fit into. Then build the box up to the sub from the trunk. It will be ported, so there will also be a slot cut for the port on the rear window deck. I am so excited...i just got the viper 790vx also, to hopefully protect it
