...my damn double din unit..dvd deck just started smoking today and it actually caught on fire..i just sent it over to get the replacement unit....damn!

nice, but what is the mounting depth you can clear with an aftermarket sub? 5" ? Anyone successful in replacing the stock with a JL sub?
edit-
ahhh i meant aftermarket sub, not speakers. I got 6.5" Alpine Type Rs going into the SC around the end of next week along with some other goodies like JVC KD-NX5000 HU :/
So yea, i meant what is the mounting depth on the sub to clear the gas tank

I put 6.5" reference speakers in the place of the stock 4 inchers in the back... I had mistakenly though they were 6.5 and was too lazy to return them. Good choice cuz its so much better. They are sitting on top of a half inch tall bracket made out of wood though as that was most convenient to use to mount them.

I found a Kenwood sub that should work for replacement enclosure...
